Job Responsibilities:

Provides direct care to minors with Mental Health/Development Disabilities/Substance Abuse Issues.
Performs personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.
Fosters positive relationships between staff and individuals served.
Ensures client safety and maintaining a safe environment.
Reminds and assists clients with self-administration of medications and dispensing (if qualified and applicable).
Encourages self-help activities.
Report changes in client's condition or family situation to administrators and supervisors.
Documents services provided.
Performs home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning.
Plan meals, shopping for groceries, preparing and serving food/meals, feeding and clean-up.
Transport and accompanies clients to scheduled appointments.
Run errands for Georgie's Helping Hand and on clients behalf.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

Ability to work in a residential group home setting.
Communication skills (verbally and written) with all all levels of personnel, internal and external to the group home.
Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
No substantiated finding on the North Carolina Healthcare Personnel Registry (HCPR).
Criminal Background Check.
